Design: the ultimate developer hack

We get a new idea and we head straight to our editor, coding our little hearts out, eager to see our new feature come to life. But once it’s built and we put it in front of real people, we realize that the button’s not quite in the right place, that form shouldn’t go in that order, the flow doesn’t quite make sense. So we rip out our code and build again, throwing away precious time and work. What if we didn’t do that? What if, instead, we spent a fraction of that time mocking it up, turning that awesome idea into a usable prototype and getting feedback before building? In this session, Saron walks through how design can help us work out our ideas in a fraction of the time that it costs to actually build it, and how, with the help of libraries and Figma plugins, any developer can learn just enough design to save themselves tons of time.

In this session, we explore how to bring your ideas to life with CSS and UI techniques new, old, and from the future!
